Our History

Blessed Hope Baptist Church was founded by Pastor Robert Ross on May 13, 1973.  The first service was held at the home of Bob and Anita Swaby with 34 in attendance.  In 1974, land was acquired just south of Jasonville at the church’s current location.  A building was constructed by the membership and in July of 1975 the church officially dedicated the new facilities.
The church has had four pastors in its 50+ year history:  Pastor Robert Ross (1973-81 & 1991-2005), Pastor Al Jewell (1981-88), Pastor Stan Kiefer (1988-90), and Pastor Jerry Ross (2005 to present).  
The church has stayed busy preaching and teaching the Bible, running buses, soul winning, supporting world-wide missions, conducting evangelistic efforts, discipling the saved, ministering in nursing homes, and educating our children by supporting home-schooling and through the ministry of the Blessed Hope Baptist School.  The church has invested heavily in children’s ministries, believing that we must reach and train the next generation for Christ.  Over the years, faithful men and women have filled key positions and worked behind the scenes in the many ministries of the church.  Because of their faithfulness, thousands have been saved and hundreds of young people have grown up to serve the Lord.  God, at His judgment seat, will reveal and reward these wonderful, now unnamed laborers.
